Emergency Road Clearing for 250,000 in Gaza

December 2025

Scholars Without Borders opened flooded roads and rescued tents from rainwater in Mawasi, Khan Younis. The one-day emergency response reached 250,000 people. Displaced families living in tents and people traveling through the area benefited from the work.

Teams ran a rapid field assessment and prioritized the worst-hit spots first. Crews built temporary drainage channels to direct water away from tents and cleared roads blocked by flooding. Work was scheduled around harsh weather and heavy rainfall, with the local community involved throughout. The response cost $24,000.
