Scholars Without Borders launched University City, an integrated academic complex in Gaza. It serves 15,000 students weekly through a shift system running mornings, evenings and Fridays. The complex hosts 8 major Palestinian universities and colleges under one roof. It includes 7 fully equipped classrooms, with large halls holding up to 150 students each.
The complex offers a business incubator, a student library, a prayer room, a cafeteria and green spaces. Smart halls are fitted with LCD projectors, interactive screens, backup power and stable internet. Faculty members, new graduates and local professional unions also use the space for training and workshops. The project ran for 3 months at a total cost of $760,000.
