Solar Power for 10,000 at UCAS Gaza

February 2026

Scholars Without Borders installed a solar energy system at the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza. The system includes 8 solar panels, a 6KW inverter and a 5.12kWh battery. Work ran from February 7 to February 17, 2026, a 10-day project. It reaches 10,000 students, academic and administrative staff, and technical personnel at the college.

Engineers designed the layout to make the best use of limited rooftop space and connected the new system to the existing electrical network under safety and efficiency standards. The team coordinated with local suppliers to secure components amid import restrictions and rising equipment costs. The system keeps classrooms and labs running through power cuts and cuts reliance on diesel generators.
